Photos! What do we wear?

Here are a few tips

What will we wear for photos? What looks good together? What will photograph well? I don’t know what to wear that makes me look good.

These, and many more, have all been things I’ve heard from clients. Wardrobe is a big hurdle when it comes to getting photos taken. You want to feel and look great, you want your family to look good together, and you’re paying good money for these and want them to be perfect.

I get it! It’s a lot to think about, coordinate, and possibly purchase. Throw kids into the mix and you’ve got a whole bunch of extra. What fits? Will they even wear this? What about shoes?

Here are my top wardrobe tips for every family and session that books with me.

*Don’t overthink it. Solid neutrals always photograph well.

*Dress Mom first and then work around her outfit. Pick something that makes you feel like a million bucks!

*Never underestimate the power of a solid crew neck shirt for all your guys. Classic, and it makes them look great.

*Dresses for girls add great movement to a shot.

*Patterns are ok as long as they are used sparingly.

*Your goal is to coordinate, not match perfectly.

*Choose a color palette that you love.

*Don’t forget the socks and shoes.

*Make sure you can move around comfortably.

*Stay away from tiny stripes, neons, and crazy patterns.
